Calgary Bike Show - January 7, 2012

All good days start with breakfast. Thirteen club members inclusing Brasco, Dan,
Sally and Drifter showed up for it.

Brasco sees if the seat on a Triumph Thruxton is any more
comfortable. It isn't.

Sonja checks out a 2012 Victory Cross Country Tourer. Hawkeye, Brasco and Pauline
wait their turns.

Garry tries the ergos on a 2012 Triumph Thunderbird Storm.

Chainsaw checks out the price tag on a 2012 Vulcan Vaquero. Matches his shirt.

Marlowe checks out the soft seat on a Vulcan 900 Touring

Highlight of the vintage portion of the show was a 1951 Vincent Black Shadow.

Retreads Christmas Party - January 14, 2012


Official greeters at the door made everyone welcome and then fleeced
them for the cost of dinner. Here Patti, Pauline and Sonja greet Dan
and Sally.

Chirp looks skeptical of Jetgirl's choices of who in the club those
baby photos grew up to be. Sandi studies them closely while Wade
rethinks his scoresheet.

Birdo was right to follow Sandi's lead in the Baby Photo Contest.
Sandi won it, correctly linking 10 of the 16 photos with their
modern day owners.

Drifter shows off the advertising for his new bike; Flip sticks with
the tried and true.

Bonny leads the charge to the buffet, followed by Sandi, Cheeks,
Vilnis and others. Connie joins the line-up.

And there was cake - suitably decorated and adorned

Scotty gets a photo of Cosmo about to massacre the cake; Dave
supervises.

Kirsten takes her turn at doling out pieces of cake.

Hawkeye welcomes the assembled after dinner and presents the trophies for 2011's a
highlight and lowlights.

Dan and Sally were honoured for their support and
contribution to the club in 2011.

Brasco received a club award for his fine work on the
club newsletter.

Tony was honoured as 2011's Phantom Biker. Showing
up at the Christmas party has made him inelegible for
the 2012 award.

The Quiet One was given a new purple teddy bear
to replace the one he sadly and tragically lost on the
highway last riding season.

Flip was presented with a souvenir of his conquoring
of the Toad Rock Jell-o Slide - a pair of tightie-
whities stained with green Jell-o and....

Then it was Scotty's turn to play Santa, presenting each rider with his or her own
pair of hand-made motorcycle jumper cables. Harley riders got theirs first.

Then the Metric riders got theirs.
