(and the Rules)

The Lady

the-lady.JPG (57865 bytes)NAME: Lady II

RIDE: Any man’s bike or a double up

Position: Foothills Retread mascot/tradition for the Guys

Profile: I am a Foothills Retread mascot/tradition and I can be found riding on a guy’s (or a double up) ride. If you find out that I am attached to your ride, there are a few simple rules that you must follow.

1)       I must be attached where I can be seen, you cannot put me away in a saddlebag.

2)       I must ride with you for the complete ride.

3)       I can only be transferred at the next ride gathering.

4)       I can only be passed on to a guy’s bike or a double up ride (guy and gal).

5)       When you pass me off to another rider, you must make sure that they understand the rules.

6)       When I am passed off it must be done in such a way that the receiving rider does not see you put me on their ride.

7)       I must be placed on the ride in such a way that I will not scratch any chrome or paint.

8)       The person passing me on must watch to see I am not discarded. Also they must ensure that the lucky rider knows the rules.

9)       You cannot pass me backwards (ie. to the person who gave it to you). After all you will note who I was with before since you should be able to see me.

10)  If you do not want to partake in this auspicious tradition and you find me on your bike, DO NOT THROW ME AWAY. (that is how we lost our poor departed original Lady. Beside my chaperones will be angry. You will be accountable to report my travels if I go missing as they will be back tracking the hand offs). Instead just tell the person passing it off to you to find some one else and let the official chaperones know about your decision. If you do not know who passed me on, hand me over to one of the chaperones. They are loving and caring folk. The official chaperones are Dave Corbett, Chris Chapiel, Doug Woelfle and Vilnis Caks.

11)  I am to be brought to the Foothills Retreads Xmas party for show. And the new riding year starts all over. (if you cannot make the party, please make arrangements for me to appear, as I love parties)
