Days Inn Kingman EastTrip notes: This hotel in
Kingman is really great. Right on route 66 (about 20-30 mins from Laughlin), across the
street was a large food store where one could get beer, wine, food. The room has a
microwave and small fridge. Hotel also has a pool with hot tub. I was able to leave my
truck and trailer in the back parking lot while my bike was off. No problem. Since
the River Run starts Wednesday, we have Monday and Tues for Route 66 riding and can have
Wed and Thur for seeing what the River Run is all about and. I am thinking of doing a
Grande Canyon run on the Monday. I would like to get to the Grand Canyon Village this
time, unless of course the Skywalk has fixed the roads. Last time I was informed the
Skywalk over the Grand Canyon although open, the roads were impassable for cars, busses or
motorcycles. On the Tuesdsay I was thinking of heading west on Route 66 through Oatman (of
course one has to see that town), to Needles California.
You will have to make the decision to go soon as the hotels in and around Laughlin get booked really early. There are casino rooms right in Laughlin during the Run, but they are more expensive. One thing I noticed last time was there were a lot of toy haulers and trailered bikes, so trailering the bike at this time of year is the only way to go over the moutain passes.
By the way booking AAA allows cancellation with out penalty up to a couple of days before stay in all hotels.
Registration:Registration is not necessary. Email me and let me know you are interested in going, I will make an email list and send you any additional information. If you do not have a trailer but still want to make the run, I will organize a list of trailers going and spaces available.
Important:
If you plan to go and either own/borrow/rent/lease or even purchase a trailer with extra space please let me know. Of the trailers that I know of going so far, their space has now been spoken for by confirmed participants (as of October 29/07 there are 6 riders now planning to go for it). I will keep all informed of any space made available on trailers (either by people dropping out or new trailers added).
